This Privacy Policy explains how the operator of DaycareOn ("DaycareOn", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use daycareon.com, our mobile apps, Chrome extension, and related services (the "Service").

By using the Service you acknowledge this Policy. Where consent is required by law, we will ask for it. Our Terms of Service govern use of the Service.

1. Scope and roles

DaycareOn provides a marketplace-style platform connecting families and childcare providers. For account, billing of our own subscriptions, and platform operations, we generally act as the organization determining how personal information is handled. When a provider uses the Service to store or message family or child information for their own care operations, that provider may also be responsible for that information under applicable privacy law, and families should review the provider's practices as well.

2. Personal information we collect

2.1 Account and authentication

Email address; hashed password if you use password sign-in; Google account identifiers if you use Google sign-in; passkey (WebAuthn) credential metadata and public keys if you register a passkey; role (parent/provider); and basic account timestamps. Authentication is provided by Supabase. We do not receive your Google password, and private passkey material remains on your device or password manager.

2.2 Family profile and applications

Name, phone, addresses or saved locations, child names and dates of birth, start-date preferences, allergies, dietary or developmental notes, application and inquiry content, waitlist tracking status, and related messages you send through the Service.

2.3 Provider and operational data

Business contact details, listing content, team member emails and roles, waitlist and enrollment records, attendance and care updates, tour scheduling data, and similar information providers enter or receive through the Service.

2.4 Payments

When families pay providers or providers subscribe to paid plans, Stripe processes payment methods, and for payouts may collect identity and bank details under Stripe's privacy policy. We store payment status, amounts, currency, fee metadata, customer or account identifiers from Stripe, and related support records—not full card numbers or bank account secrets.

2.5 Device, usage, and support

IP address and approximate location derived from it; device and browser type; pages and features used; search queries; diagnostic logs; push notification tokens on mobile if you enable notifications; and communications you send to support.

2.6 Extension-specific data

As described in Section 6, limited page URL/title signals for listing recognition and, only after you request form fill, form field metadata processed with your saved profile.

3. Children's information

The Service is directed to adults (parents/guardians and providers), not to children. We may process children's personal information when an adult provides it for childcare search, applications, enrollment, or care communications. Providers who upload child data must have authority to do so. If you believe we have collected a child's information inappropriately, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

4. How we use personal information

  • Provide, secure, and improve the Service;
  • Create and manage accounts, including passkeys and other sign-in methods;
  • Facilitate profiles, search, inquiries, applications, waitlists, messaging, enrollment tools, and attendance/care features;
  • Process platform subscriptions and facilitate provider–family payments via Stripe;
  • Send transactional messages (email and optional push). Send marketing email only with consent where required, including under Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL);
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
  • Comply with law and enforce our Terms; and
  • Analyze aggregated or de-identified trends; where events are tied to an account, we use them to improve product experience.

5. When we share information

We do not sell personal information. We share it only as follows:

  • Providers and families. Content you choose to send (inquiries, applications, messages, payment requests, care updates) is shared with the intended recipients and authorized team members on a listing.
  • Service providers. Vendors that process data for us, including Supabase (database/auth), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Mapbox (maps/location features where used), Anthropic (optional smart form-fill suggestions), mobile push providers, and similar infrastructure partners under contractual obligations.
  • AI assistant providers. If you connect DaycareOn to Claude, ChatGPT, or similar tools, Anthropic, OpenAI, or the relevant provider will process the data needed for that conversation under their policies.
  • Legal and safety. When we believe disclosure is required by law, valid legal process, or to protect rights, safety, or security.
  • Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.

6. Chrome extension

The DaycareOn Chrome extension helps recognize matching listings, show tracking context, assess basic fit from listing metadata, and fill forms when you ask. It:

  • May read page URL and title to match a listing; those values are used for recognition, not to build a general browsing history;
  • Accesses page text and form fields only after you choose fill, and after Chrome site access is granted for that site; it does not submit forms for you; and
  • Stores session tokens locally via chrome.storage.local; account records remain on our servers.

Use of information received through Chrome extension APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including Limited Use. We do not use extension data for personalized advertising or for creditworthiness or lending decisions.

7. AI assistant connectors

Optional MCP connectors let you search the directory and, when signed in, operate on data you can already access in DaycareOn. Sign-in uses normal OAuth to your DaycareOn account; we do not share your password with the assistant provider. Disconnect the connector in that assistant's settings to revoke access.

8. International transfers

We operate from Canada and may process information in Canada, the United States, and other countries where our vendors operate. Those countries may have different privacy laws than your home jurisdiction. Where required, we use appropriate contractual or other safeguards with processors.

9. Retention

We retain personal information while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements. You may delete your account in Settings while signed in, or request deletion by emailing hello@daycareon.com. Some information already shared with another user (for example a message or payment record) or required for compliance may persist in limited form.

10. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including encrypted transport, access controls, and hashed passwords. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

11. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live (including under PIPEDA in Canada and other applicable laws), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain information about our handling of your personal information, and to withdraw consent where processing is consent-based (without affecting lawfulness before withdrawal). You can:

  • update profile information in the product;
  • manage passkeys and password in Settings;
  • disable push notifications in device settings;
  • unsubscribe from marketing email via the message link; and
  • email hello@daycareon.com for access, correction, deletion, or privacy questions.

We may need to verify your request and may refuse or limit requests as permitted by law.

12. Cookies and similar technologies

We use essential cookies and similar technologies for authentication and core preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. If we add non-essential analytics cookies that require consent in your region, we will update this Policy and obtain consent where required.

13. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date will change when we do. Material changes may also be notified in-product or by email. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Policy.
