TELCCS vs independent centres
TELCCS (Toronto Early Learning and Child Care Services) centres are operated by the City of Toronto. They use a centralized waitlist through the city's online registration system. When you apply to one TELCCS centre, your application is shared across all city-run centres.
Independent licensed centres and home daycares manage their own waitlists. You'll need to contact each one directly and track your applications separately.

CWELCC fee reduction
The Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) agreement reduces fees at participating licensed centres.
Average $19/day through December 31, 2026
For children under 6 at CWELCC-enrolled centres in Ontario.

Not all licensed centres participate in CWELCC. Check with each centre about their enrollment status and actual daily rate, as fees may vary.
When to follow up
Wait times vary widely depending on the centre, age group, and time of year. Most centres recommend following up 6–8 weeks after your initial application to confirm your spot on the waitlist.
